From the moment I met my husband, we both had a deep passion for travel and exploration. When we decided to start a family of our own, we wanteour children to be exposed to all the amazing cultures and experiences the world has to offer. It has always been our goal to show them everything this world has in store and fill their lives with wonderful memories.
When we first got married, my husband had a 9-5 job and I was a real estate agent. This meant that our household expenses were covered and I could use my income to take spontaneous trips without having to plan too far ahead, but every time returning home felt like a letdown. We had vacation blues and I wanted a lifestyle that didn’t require taking breaks from.
I have always believed that the most meaningful learning occurs when you travel. So although I loved my career as a real estate agent, I was determined to find a way to generate income that would not be confined by
geographic boundaries.
My husband was already in the process of starting a virtual truck dispatching company. So after a lot of research, prayer and motivation from a few close friends, I became a full-time day trader, trading stock options in the stock market.
It’s not an easy to learn this skill, but it’s very rewarding – it gives me freedom and control over my time. It allows me to spend quality time with my family while still seeing what the world has to offer.
Then COVID-19 happened!
I decided to make our first post-Covid trip a big one, so Africa was the obvious choice. We chose to start our journey in Nairobi, Kenya and spent 30 days taking in all Kenya had to offer. By the end of our trip we all felt that 30 days just wasn’t enough. We were actually sad to leave. I remember fighting back tears at the airport.
So, we went back home and decided to sell our house right away which allowed us to pay off debt and eliminate a lot of bills.
Now we are living life on our own terms and traveling the world full-time with Kenya as our home base. We are sharing our story in hopes to inspire other families to manifest the life they want and explore the world together!
